The production of consumer goods exceed 10 000 billion of US Dollars yearly. We keep producing more and more of goods that already exist, an overwhelming amount of waste, promoting an endless material consumption. On the other hand, Circular Economy allows to meet our needs, while reducing waste and promoting the community and sense of sharing. This is what we believe in.

The Agora is a project borne by the company ÉcoCé, whose aim is to allow societies to meet their needs, with a lower material and energy consumption. Named after the area in the Ancient Greek cities where Citizens would meet, trade and take part in the community, this is the purpose of the Agora: boosting local communities and exchange goods in a way that respects others, the environment… and wallets 🙃

How often do you use it ?

Aren’t there some items that you rarely use, at least not at the moment ? Think about a drill, a ladder, a tent, a baby crib, a suitcase… Do they still even work ?

How much space do they take ?

This cabinet where you keep all the tools that you used once when you moved in. Wouldn’t this be a great place for the vacuum cleaner that you just leave in the bathroom corner for now ?

And how much did it cost ?

It’s a known brand and not so pricy so you bought it new from the store. But is the ratio between price and number of times you used it really worth it ? It was made abroad – what about the social and environmental cost ?

No need to buy expensive and bulky things, just rent from others what you need only temporarily. This is good for your wallet and no more arguing at home about who gets to use that cabinet.

Optimize usage

Why use 10 times and dispose of something that could be used 10 000 times ? This is the sad reality for something such as a drills. Another example is a phone, changed every 2-3 years but could work for at least 3 or 4 times more. Did you say consumerism ?

Repair or recycle well

Something not working ? Maybe we can repair it !
When repair is possible, it is cheaper than buying new. If we can’t repair, let’s make sure that components are properly recycled.

Sharing makes things more affordable for everyone, boosts your local community while protecting workers and the environment.

Our Story

Founded as an initiative of our parent company, EcoCe, Agora is our way to deploy circular economy for the public. The objective is to offer an affordable access to goods, while reducing our pressure on the environment, on low-income workers globally and increase the sense of community and sharing locally.
